Specifile
Established in 1959, Specifile is the leading supplier of information on building industry manufacturers and products in Southern Africa. Specifile is an information service comprising a mix of media, from electronic systems to hard copy designed to promote the effective and cost efficient marketing of building products and services to a broad spectrum of subscribers.
The Specifile Information Service is primarily aimed at professionals within the building industry and is utilised by some 11000 architects, quantity surveyors, consulting engineers, building and interior designers, property developers and import / export agents.
Our experience of the industry has enabled us to develop products which fulfil our objective of supplying high quality and comprehensive information services at affordable prices to the majority of specifiers in southern Africa.
Our range of information services includes:
- Specifile On-line our Internet site for Specifile subscribers. Includes a vast array of building products available in South Africa, all contact details for building product manufacturers, thousands of CAD drawings and datasheets from leading manufacturers of building products in South Africa, and much more.
- The Specifile Export Compendium. This annual publication and internet site contains information on South African manufacturers of building products who export their range of products outside South Africa’s borders and have the infrastructure to support this.
- The Specifile Building Library is a 25-volume set of binders filled with brochures on South African Building Products and is updated every quarter by trained field representatives.
- The SPECXpert 3-volume CD set – this contains information on over 1000 manufacturers of building products, and includes 5000 datasheets, 9000 CAD drawings, software and related product information. Also included is information on over 3000 professionals in the building industry, such as architects, building and interior designers, quantity surveyors and consulting engineers.
